梅雨
梅雨 (Meiyu), also known as the "plum rain," is a seasonal weather phenomenon in East Asia, particularly in China, Japan, and Korea. It typically occurs from early June to mid-July, characterized by continuous, heavy rainfall. The name comes from the fact that this rainy season coincides with the ripening of plum fruits.
During 梅雨, the weather is often humid and overcast, leading to a significant increase in moisture levels. This period is crucial for agriculture, as it provides essential water for crops. However, the persistent rain can also cause challenges, such as flooding and landslides in affected regions.
