念仏
念仏 (Nembutsu) is a practice in Japanese Buddhism that involves reciting the name of Amitābha Buddha, often expressed as "Namu Amida Butsu." This practice is central to the Pure Land Buddhism tradition, which emphasizes faith in Amitābha and the aspiration to be reborn in his Pure Land, a realm of enlightenment.
The recitation of Nembutsu serves as a form of meditation and devotion, helping practitioners cultivate mindfulness and a connection to the divine. It is believed that sincere repetition can lead to spiritual awakening and liberation from the cycle of birth and death, known as samsara.
