帖木兒
帖木兒, also known as Tamerlane, was a 14th-century conqueror and military leader from Central Asia. He founded the Timurid Empire, which stretched across parts of modern-day Iran, Iraq, and Central Asia. Known for his strategic brilliance and ruthless tactics, he aimed to restore the Mongol Empire and is often compared to Genghis Khan.
Born in 1336 in present-day Uzbekistan, Tamerlane rose to power by uniting various tribes and launching military campaigns. His reign was marked by significant cultural achievements, including the patronage of art and architecture, particularly in the city of Samarkand, which became a cultural hub during his rule.
