大坂冬の陣
The "大坂冬の陣" (Osaka Winter Campaign) took place in 1614-1615 during the Sengoku period in Japan. It was a conflict between the forces of the Tokugawa shogunate and the Toyotomi clan, centered around the Osaka Castle. The campaign aimed to eliminate the remaining power of the Toyotomi after the death of Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
The winter campaign began with a siege of Osaka Castle, where the Toyotomi forces, led by Toyotomi Hideyori, defended against the Tokugawa army. Despite their efforts, the siege ultimately led to the fall of the castle in the following spring, marking a significant turning point in Japanese history and solidifying Tokugawa control over Japan.
