The 亚述图书馆, or the Assyrian Library, is an ancient collection of clay tablets discovered in the ruins of the ancient city of 尼尼微 (Nineveh) in modern-day 伊拉克 (Iraq). It was part of the royal palace of the Assyrian king 亚述巴尼拔 (Ashurbanipal) and dates back to the 7th century BCE. The library contains a vast array of texts, including literature, history, and administrative documents, showcasing the knowledge and culture of the Assyrian civilization. The most famous work found in the 亚述图书馆 is the 吉尔伽美什史诗 (Epic of Gilgamesh), one of the oldest known literary works. The tablets are written in 楔形文字 (cuneiform script) and provide valuable insights into ancient Mesopotamian society, religion, and mythology. Today, these artifacts are crucial for
