प्रधानमंत्री आवास योजना
प्रधानमंत्री आवास योजना (PMAY) is a government initiative launched in 2015 to provide affordable housing to the urban poor in India. The scheme aims to ensure that every family has access to a pucca house with basic amenities by 2022. It offers financial assistance and subsidies to eligible beneficiaries for constructing or purchasing homes.
Under PMAY, there are two main components: Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Urban (PMAY-U) for urban areas and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Gramin (PMAY-G) for rural areas. The program targets low-income groups, economically weaker sections, and women, promoting inclusive housing development across the country.
