کو یوان
کو یوان (Qu Yuan) was a famous Chinese poet and statesman from the Warring States period, known for his deep patriotism and loyalty to his state of Chu. He is best remembered for his work in the Li Sao, a long poem that expresses his despair over political corruption and his love for his homeland.
Qu Yuan's legacy is celebrated during the Duanwu Festival, also known as the Dragon Boat Festival, which commemorates his death by drowning in the Miluo River. People honor him by racing dragon boats and eating zongzi, a traditional sticky rice dumpling wrapped in bamboo leaves.
