عید الاضحی
عید الاضحی, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is an important Islamic holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide. It commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Isma'il in obedience to God's command. The holiday occurs on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the last month of the Islamic lunar calendar, and coincides with the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca.
During عید الاضحی, families gather to perform the ritual sacrifice of an animal, usually a sheep, goat, or cow. The meat is then divided into three parts: one-third for the family, one-third for relatives and friends, and one-third for those in need. This act symbolizes sharing, charity, and gratitude, reinforcing the values of community and compassion in Islam.
