Фирдоуси (Ferdowsi) was a Persian poet who lived from approximately 940 to 1020 CE. He is best known for his epic poem, the Shahnameh, which translates to "The Book of Kings." This monumental work is considered one of the most important pieces of Persian literature and chronicles the history and mythology of Persia from its mythical origins to the Islamic conquest.
Firdousi's writing is notable for its rich language and deep cultural significance, as it helped preserve the Persian language and identity during a time of foreign domination.
