Ταό (Taoism)
Ταό (Taoism) is a philosophical and religious tradition that originated in ancient China. It emphasizes living in harmony with the Tao, which is understood as the fundamental principle that underlies and unites all things in the universe. Taoism teaches that individuals should align themselves with the natural flow of life, promoting simplicity, humility, and compassion.
Central to Taoism is the concept of wu wei, or "non-action," which encourages people to act in accordance with the natural order rather than through forceful effort. Key texts include the Tao Te Ching, attributed to Laozi, and the Zhuangzi, which explore themes of balance, spontaneity, and the interconnectedness of all life.
