Γκιλγκαμές is a legendary figure from ancient Mesopotamian literature, primarily known from the Epic of Gilgamesh. He is depicted as a historical king of Uruk, a city-state in ancient Sumer, and is often described as two-thirds divine and one-third human. The epic explores themes of friendship, mortality, and the quest for wisdom.
