{Louis I, Duke of Orléans
Louis I, Duke of Orléans (1392–1407) was a prominent French nobleman and a key figure during the late medieval period. He was the son of Charles, Duke of Orléans and a member of the royal House of Valois. Louis played a significant role in the political landscape of France, particularly during the conflicts between the Burgundians and the Armagnacs.
As Duke, Louis I was known for his ambition and influence, which often put him at odds with other powerful factions. His rivalry with John the Fearless, the Duke of Burgundy, ultimately led to his assassination in 1407, a pivotal event that intensified the ongoing civil strife in France.
