Louis I, Duke of Orléans
Louis I, Duke of Orléans (1392–1407), was a prominent French nobleman and a key figure during the late medieval period. He was the son of Charles, Duke of Orléans and a member of the Valois dynasty. Louis played a significant role in the political conflicts of his time, particularly during the Hundred Years' War between France and England.
As Duke, Louis I was known for his ambition and rivalry with other noble families, especially the Burgundians. His assassination in 1407 marked a turning point in French politics, leading to increased tensions and violence between the factions, which ultimately contributed to the ongoing instability in France during the early 15th century.
