Henry Stuart, Lord Darnley was born on December 7, 1545, in England. He was a member of the royal family, being the son of Matthew Stuart, 4th Earl of Lennox and Mary Stuart, Countess of Lennox. Darnley is best known for his marriage to Mary, Queen of Scots in 1565, which united two claims to the English throne.
Darnley's reign was marked by political intrigue and personal ambition. He sought greater power and influence, but his behavior became increasingly erratic.
