Henry Stuart, Lord Darnley
Henry Stuart, Lord Darnley (1545-1567), was a Scottish nobleman and the second husband of Mary, Queen of Scots. He was born into the Stuart family, which had a strong claim to the English throne. Darnley married Mary in 1565, seeking to strengthen his position and influence in Scotland. However, their marriage was tumultuous and marked by political strife.
Darnley's ambition and desire for power led to conflicts with Mary and her advisors. His behavior became increasingly erratic, and he was involved in the mysterious murder of David Rizzio, Mary's secretary. Darnley was ultimately murdered in 1567 under suspicious circumstances, which further complicated the political landscape of Scotland.
