{Ernest Augustus, Duke of Cumberland
Ernest Augustus, Duke of Cumberland was born on February 26, 1771, in Germany. He was the son of George III of the United Kingdom and Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. In 1799, he became the Duke of Cumberland and later served as the Governor of Hanover after it was annexed by the British crown.
The Duke was known for his strong opinions and often controversial political views. He played a significant role in the affairs of Hanover and was involved in various military and diplomatic matters. Ernest Augustus passed away on November 12, 1851, leaving a legacy tied to both British and German history.
