zabuton
A zabuton is a traditional Japanese cushion used for sitting on the floor. Typically rectangular and filled with cotton or other soft materials, it provides comfort during activities like meditation or tea ceremonies. Zabuton are often found in homes, especially in rooms with tatami mats, where people sit on the floor.
These cushions are usually paired with a smaller cushion called a zafu, which is used for sitting cross-legged. Together, they create a comfortable seating arrangement for practices such as zazen meditation. Zabuton come in various colors and designs, reflecting the aesthetics of Japanese culture.
