voter eligibility
Voter eligibility refers to the requirements that individuals must meet to participate in elections. Generally, to be eligible to vote in the United States, a person must be a citizen, at least 18 years old on or before election day, and a resident of the state where they intend to vote. Some states may have additional requirements, such as registration deadlines.
Certain individuals may be disqualified from voting due to specific circumstances. For example, those currently incarcerated for a felony conviction may lose their voting rights, depending on state laws. Additionally, individuals deemed mentally incompetent by a court may also be ineligible to vote.
