tupan
The tupan, also known as the toco toucan, is a large bird native to the tropical forests of Central and South America. It is easily recognized by its vibrant orange and yellow bill, which can be almost half the length of its body. Tupans are social birds, often found in small groups, and they primarily feed on fruits, insects, and small animals.
Tupans play an important role in their ecosystem by helping to disperse seeds from the fruits they eat. Their unique bill allows them to reach fruit in hard-to-access places, making them effective foragers. These birds are also known for their distinctive calls and vocalizations, which contribute to the sounds of the rainforest.
