trulli
Trulli are traditional stone dwellings found in the region of Apulia in southern Italy. Characterized by their conical roofs made of limestone, these unique structures are often whitewashed and have a circular base. The roofs are constructed without mortar, allowing for flexibility and easy repairs.
These buildings date back to the 14th century and were originally used as temporary homes by farmers and laborers. Today, many trulli are preserved as historical sites and attract tourists, particularly in the town of Alberobello, which is famous for its concentration of these charming structures.
