throw-in
A "throw-in" is a method of restarting play in soccer when the ball goes out of bounds over the sideline. The team that did not touch the ball last is awarded the throw-in. The player must use both hands to throw the ball from behind their head and keep both feet on the ground or behind the line.
During a throw-in, the player must ensure that the ball is thrown from the point where it crossed the sideline. The opposing team must stand at least two meters away from the thrower until the ball is in play.
