Goal Kick
A goal kick is a method of restarting play in a soccer match when the ball goes out of bounds over the goal line, last touched by an attacking player. The kick is taken from within the goal area, and the defending team is awarded the kick. The ball must be stationary and is usually kicked by the goalkeeper or another player from the defending team.
To execute a goal kick, the ball must be kicked directly out of the goal area. If the ball does not leave the area, the kick is retaken. A goal kick can also be used to clear the ball from the defensive zone and is an important part of the game strategy for teams like FC Barcelona or Manchester United.
