The Black Women's Health Imperative (BWHI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the health and wellness of Black women and girls in the United States. Founded in 1983, it focuses on addressing health disparities and promoting health equity through education, advocacy, and community engagement. BWHI works on various issues, including reproductive health, chronic diseases, and mental health.
BWHI also provides resources and programs that empower Black women to take charge of their health. By collaborating with other organizations and stakeholders, the initiative aims to create systemic changes that enhance access to quality healthcare and support for Black women and girls.
