tercio de banderillas
The "tercio de banderillas" is the second act in a traditional Spanish bullfighting event, known as a corrida de toros. During this phase, the bullfighter, or matador, uses colorful barbed sticks called banderillas to further provoke the bull. The banderillas are typically thrust into the bull's back, adding to the spectacle and excitement of the fight.
This act follows the "tercio de picas," where the bull is initially tested with lances. The "tercio de banderillas" aims to demonstrate the skill of the banderillero, who must place the banderillas while avoiding the bull's charges. This phase is crucial for building tension before the final act, the "tercio de muerte."
