systemic blood pressure
Systemic blood pressure refers to the force exerted by circulating blood on the walls of blood vessels throughout the body. It is typically measured in millimeters of mercury (mmHg) and is expressed as two numbers: systolic pressure (the pressure during heartbeats) over diastolic pressure (the pressure between heartbeats).
Maintaining healthy systemic blood pressure is crucial for overall health, as high or low levels can lead to various health issues. Hypertension, or high blood pressure, increases the risk of heart disease and stroke, while hypotension, or low blood pressure, can cause dizziness and fainting.
