strikes (Hit)
A "strike" in baseball occurs when a batter swings at a pitch and misses, or when the pitch is within the strike zone but not swung at. The strike zone is the area over home plate between the batter's knees and the midpoint of their torso. If a batter accumulates three strikes in a single at-bat, they are considered "out."
Strikes are an essential part of the game, as they help determine the outcome of each at-bat. The pitcher aims to throw strikes to challenge the batter, while the batter tries to hit the ball to reach base safely.
