The seahorse is a unique marine fish belonging to the genus Hippocampus. They are characterized by their horse-like heads, elongated bodies, and prehensile tails, which allow them to grasp onto seagrasses and corals. Seahorses are typically found in shallow coastal waters, often in habitats like mangroves and seagrass beds. One of the most interesting features of seahorses is their reproductive process. Male seahorses carry and nurture the young in a special pouch, similar to a kangaroo. After a gestation period, the males give birth to fully formed baby seahorses, which are independent from birth.
