reflections (Mirrors)
Reflections occur when light bounces off a surface, creating an image of whatever is in front of it. The most common example of this is a mirror, which is typically made of glass coated with a thin layer of metal. When light hits the smooth surface of a mirror, it reflects back, allowing us to see our own image.
Mirrors can be flat or curved, each producing different types of reflections. A flat mirror gives a true-to-life image, while curved mirrors, like those used in funhouses or car side mirrors, can distort the reflection. This property of reflection is also utilized in various optical devices, such as telescopes and cameras.
