presidential election process
The presidential election process in the United States begins with primary elections and caucuses, where political parties select their candidates. Voters from each party choose their preferred candidate, and delegates are awarded based on the results. The candidates then campaign across the country to gain support.
In the general election, held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November, citizens cast their votes for one of the candidates. The winner is determined by the Electoral College, where each state has a certain number of electors based on its population. A candidate needs a majority of electoral votes to win the presidency.
