placenta percreta
Placenta percreta is a serious pregnancy complication where the placenta grows too deeply into the uterine wall and can even invade nearby organs. This condition occurs when the placenta attaches itself to the uterus in an abnormal way, making it difficult to detach after childbirth.
Women with a history of cesarean sections or other uterine surgeries are at higher risk for developing placenta percreta. If not diagnosed and managed properly, it can lead to severe bleeding and may require surgical intervention, such as a hysterectomy, to ensure the safety of the mother.
