oligarchies
An oligarchy is a form of government where a small group of people holds significant power and influence over a larger population. This group may consist of wealthy individuals, military leaders, or influential families. In an oligarchy, the ruling elite often makes decisions that benefit their interests, rather than the general public.
Oligarchies can be found in various countries and historical contexts, sometimes coexisting with other political systems. For example, in some post-Soviet states, a few wealthy businessmen, known as oligarchs, gained control over key industries and resources, shaping the political landscape to their advantage.
