oganesson
Oganesson is a synthetic element with the symbol Og and atomic number 118. It is classified as a noble gas and is one of the heaviest elements on the periodic table. Discovered in 2002, it was named in honor of Russian physicist Yuri Oganessian for his contributions to the field of superheavy element research.
Due to its extremely short half-life, oganesson is highly unstable and has only been produced in minute amounts in laboratories. Its properties are not well understood, but it is predicted to exhibit unique characteristics that differ from lighter noble gases like neon and argon.
