mucinous cystadenomas
Mucinous cystadenomas are benign tumors that typically develop in the ovaries. They are filled with a thick, gel-like fluid called mucus and can vary in size. These tumors are often discovered during imaging tests, such as ultrasounds, and may not cause any symptoms.
Although mucinous cystadenomas are non-cancerous, they can sometimes grow large enough to cause discomfort or pressure in the abdomen. Surgical removal is usually recommended if they cause symptoms or if there is uncertainty about their nature. Regular monitoring may be advised for smaller, asymptomatic cysts.
