minbar
A minbar is a pulpit found in a mosque, used by the imam to deliver sermons during the Friday prayer service, known as Jumu'ah. It is typically elevated, allowing the imam to be seen and heard by the congregation. The minbar often has three steps, symbolizing the three stages of faith.
Traditionally made of wood or stone, the minbar is often intricately decorated with Islamic art and calligraphy. It serves not only as a functional piece of furniture but also as a significant architectural element within the mosque, reflecting the cultural and artistic heritage of the Islamic community.
