launeddas
Launeddas is a traditional woodwind instrument from Sardinia, Italy. It consists of three pipes: one melody pipe and two drone pipes, which create a rich, layered sound. The instrument is typically made from cane and is played by blowing into the melody pipe while simultaneously covering and uncovering finger holes to produce different notes.
This unique instrument is often associated with Sardinian folk music and is used in various cultural celebrations and rituals. Launeddas players, known as "launeddisti," often perform in groups, showcasing the instrument's versatility and the deep-rooted musical heritage of the region.
