khanda
The khanda is a symbol of the Sikh faith, representing the belief in one God and the importance of spiritual strength. It consists of a double-edged sword in the center, flanked by a circular emblem called a chakra and two single-edged swords, known as kirpans, on either side. The double-edged sword signifies the dual nature of reality, while the chakra represents the unity of God.
The khanda is often displayed in Sikh temples, known as gurdwaras, and is an important part of Sikh ceremonies and flags. It embodies the principles of justice, truth, and the fight against oppression, reflecting the core values of Sikhism.
