hienas
Hienas, or hyenas, are carnivorous mammals found primarily in Africa and parts of Asia. They belong to the family Hyaenidae and are known for their unique social structures and vocalizations. There are four species of hienas: the spotted, brown, striped, and aardwolf. They are often recognized for their strong jaws and scavenging habits, although they are also skilled hunters.
Hienas live in groups called clans, which can consist of up to 80 individuals. They are known for their complex social interactions and hierarchies, often led by females. Their distinctive laughter-like calls serve as communication within the clan, especially during hunts or territorial disputes.
