goal kick
A goal kick is a method of restarting play in soccer when the ball goes out of bounds over the goal line, last touched by an attacking player. The kick is taken from within the goal area, and the defending team is awarded the kick. The ball must be stationary and is usually kicked by the goalkeeper or another player from the defending team.
During a goal kick, the opposing team must remain outside the penalty area until the ball is in play. The ball is considered in play once it has traveled outside the penalty area and is touched by another player. This rule helps maintain fair play and allows the defending team to clear the ball from their defensive zone.
