de Young Museum
The de Young Museum is an art museum located in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, California. It is part of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and was established in 1895. The museum features a diverse collection of American art from the 17th through the 21st centuries, as well as art from Africa, Oceania, and the Americas.
The museum's building, designed by Herzog & de Meuron, opened in 2005 and is known for its distinctive copper facade. In addition to its permanent collection, the de Young hosts temporary exhibitions, educational programs, and community events, making it a vibrant cultural hub.
