darmstadtium
Darmstadtium is a synthetic element with the symbol Ds and atomic number 110. It was first created in 1994 by a team of scientists at the GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research in Darmstadt, Germany. Darmstadtium is part of the transition metals and is classified as a member of the platinum group.
Due to its short half-life, darmstadtium is not found in nature and can only be produced in particle accelerators. It has no significant commercial applications, and its properties are not well-studied because only a few atoms have ever been created.
