ash trees
Ash trees are deciduous trees belonging to the genus Fraxinus. They are known for their tall stature, reaching heights of up to 80 feet, and their compound leaves, which typically have 5 to 11 leaflets. Ash trees are commonly found in North America, Europe, and Asia, thriving in a variety of soil types.
These trees produce small, winged seeds called samaras, which are dispersed by the wind. Ash wood is valued for its strength and flexibility, making it popular for furniture and sports equipment. However, many ash trees are threatened by the invasive emerald ash borer, a beetle that has caused significant decline in ash populations.
