ametabolous development
Ametabolous development is a type of growth seen in certain insects, where the young resemble miniature adults. These young, called nymphs, do not undergo significant changes in form as they mature. Instead, they gradually grow larger and develop reproductive organs over time.
This developmental process is common in insects like silverfish and bristletails. Unlike other types of development, such as hemimetabolous or holometabolous, ametabolous insects do not have distinct life stages like larvae or pupae. Their simple growth pattern allows them to adapt easily to their environments as they mature.
