Zoolbia
Zoolbia is a traditional Persian sweet, popular in Iran and other Middle Eastern countries. It is made from a dough of flour, yogurt, and starch, which is then deep-fried in oil. The fried pieces are soaked in a syrup made from sugar, water, and sometimes flavored with rosewater or saffron, giving them a sweet and aromatic taste.
Typically served during festive occasions, Zoolbia is often enjoyed alongside another sweet called Bamieh. The combination of these treats is common during Ramadan and other celebrations, making them a beloved part of Persian culinary culture.
