Zogu I of Albania
Zogu I of Albania, born Ahmet Zogu in 1895, was the first King of Albania, reigning from 1928 until 1939. He initially served as the Prime Minister and later declared himself king, establishing a monarchy after Albania became a republic. His rule focused on modernizing the country and strengthening its national identity.
Zogu's reign faced challenges, including political instability and economic difficulties. In 1939, as World War II began, Italy invaded Albania, leading to his exile.
