Zips
Zips are a type of fastener commonly used in clothing, bags, and various other items. They consist of two strips of fabric with interlocking metal or plastic teeth and a slider that moves up and down to open or close the fastener. Zips provide a secure closure and are favored for their ease of use compared to buttons or hooks.
The invention of the zip is credited to Whitcomb Judson, who patented the first version in 1893. Over the years, zips have evolved in design and materials, leading to various types such as invisible zips and waterproof zips, catering to different needs in fashion and functionality.
