Zhuang New Year
Zhuang New Year, also known as Buluotuo Festival, is a traditional celebration for the Zhuang people, an ethnic group in China. It typically occurs in late January or early February, coinciding with the lunar new year. The festival marks the beginning of a new agricultural year and is a time for family reunions, feasting, and honoring ancestors.
During Zhuang New Year, various customs are observed, including singing traditional songs, performing dances, and preparing special foods like glutinous rice cakes. People also decorate their homes with colorful banners and engage in activities such as dragon and lion dances to bring good luck for the year ahead.
