Zhenghe
Zhenghe refers to a famous Chinese explorer and diplomat from the early 15th century, known for his voyages during the Ming Dynasty. He was born in 1371 in Yunnan Province and was originally named Zheng He. He led seven major expeditions across the Indian Ocean, reaching as far as the east coast of Africa, promoting trade and cultural exchange.
His fleet consisted of large ships called treasure ships, which were among the largest wooden ships ever built. Zhenghe's journeys helped establish Chinese presence in maritime trade and diplomacy, fostering relationships with various countries and cultures along the way.
