Zeta Geminorum, also known as Pollux, is a bright star located in the constellation of Gemini. It is approximately 34 light-years away from Earth and is classified as a giant star, specifically a K-type orange giant. Pollux is notable for being one of the two brightest stars in Gemini, the other being Castor.
Pollux has a surface temperature of around 4,800 Kelvin and is about 1.5 times the mass of the Sun. It is also known to have at least one confirmed exoplanet, named Pollux b, which orbits the star. This makes Pollux an interesting subject for astronomers studying stellar systems.
