Zayanderud
The Zayanderud is the longest river in central Iran, flowing through the city of Isfahan. It originates from the Zardkuh mountain range and travels approximately 400 kilometers before emptying into the Gavkhouni Wetland. The river plays a crucial role in the region's agriculture and water supply.
Historically, the Zayanderud has been vital for irrigation and supporting local communities. Its banks are lined with beautiful gardens and historical sites, making it a popular destination for both locals and tourists. However, the river has faced challenges due to drought and water management issues in recent years.
