Zanla War
The Zanla War, also known as the Second Chimurenga, was a conflict in Zimbabwe that took place from the late 1960s to 1979. It involved the Zimbabwe African National Liberation Army (ZANLA), the military wing of the Zimbabwe African National Union (ZANU), fighting against the white-minority government of Rhodesia. The war aimed to end colonial rule and achieve independence for the black majority.
The conflict was marked by guerrilla warfare, with ZANLA receiving support from neighboring countries like Mozambique and backing from the Soviet Union and China. The war concluded with the signing of the Lancaster House Agreement in 1979, leading to the establishment of an independent Zimbabwe in 1980.
